What is Operating system
Operating system is an integrated set of programs that controls the resources memory input output devices,
operating system operate computer system and provide its user with virtual machine that is more convenient to use than the basic machine.
Functions of operating system:
Memory management:
The operating system keep track of the space and field memory and also look for the allocation of the memory spaces.
Processor management:
The operating system manages tasks like scheduling, and eliminating a process.
Device management:
The operating system controls all the input and output device signals.
Security management:
Operating systems manage privacy like passwords or the authentication of the users.
Command interpreter:
users communicate with the operating system for the various system resources,there are a set of commands provided by operating system

Microsoft disk operating system. MS-DOS used for PC, x86-based PC
