Analog Video

Analog video recorders record video and audio signals as analog tracks on the videotape.

Analog format video recorders:

VHS. Format:

standard VHS format s used by VHS (Video Home System)camera.
they use the same tapes and VCR (videocassette recording) VHS tapes.
cost of tape is quite low.

VHS-C:

The standard VHS format is used by VHS tape that s fitted in a compact cassette.
these tapes can be played on a VCR with a special adapter.

Digital Video

The digital video recorders record video and audio signals as analog tracks on the videotape.

digital video offers high quality , small sizes and easy editing of recorded video.

Digital format video recorders:

several formats are used today, some of the lists are:

MiniDV:

MiniDV recording is done by miniDVcamcorfers.
they record on compact-sized cassettes,

Digital8:

produced by sony.
Digiral8 is similar to DV camcorders.

DVD:

It is new technology.
it is pretty close to MiniDV models in performance.
instead of fast forward or rewinding tape, you can jump immediately to each section of the video.
