Maghi Mela Celebration:
According to the Nanakshahi calendar, Maghi Mela is celebrated in January each year.
The Mela is celebrated in honor of the 40 Sikh warriors who perished fighting the Mughals in the 1705 Battle of Khidrana, which was dubbed Muktsar after the battle. The following day, the first of Magh, the warriors’ bodies were cremated—hence the festival’s name.Sikhs celebrate the Maghi with an end-to-end recital of the holy Guru Granth Sahib and religious rituals in all the Sikh Gurudwar
