why do we celebrate easter

Easter, like many other holidays, is associated with religious beliefs, particularly Christianity, and is a celebration similar to springtime when flowers and trees bloom.

In contrast to other holidays like Christmas, which are always observed on December 25, the Christian holiday of Easter is meant to commemorate Jesus’ resurrection from the dead.

Easter has no set date and changes every year the holiday always falls on a Sunday between March 22nd and April 25th. Easter is a day to remember life, so people of all faiths and none can help but celebrate it.

Why is it called Easter?

The Anglo-Saxon goddess of spring and fertility, ester or extreme, is thought to be the source of the word. Nowadays, many Easter-related designs are used to honor Easter. Easter falls in the spring, so it’s no surprise that life bunnies and eggs are associated with life and rebirth. when is Easter?

in 2023 Easter will fall on the 9th of April but that date is not fixed Easter can occur on any of the 35 days between March 22nd in April 25th now how can that be surely Jesus’s resurrection occurred on a specific day during the year well the answer is yes it just depends on which calendar you look at you see in everyday life we use but is known as the Gregorian calendar which is a type of solar calendar as it’s based on the sun’s position relative to the Stars Easter however predates the Gregorian calendar by about 1400 years and although Easter has to occur within a precise period in the Gregorian calendar the exact date is determined by the lunar calendar which in turn is based on the monthly cycles of the moon the exact formula for the Easter date is as follows it falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon to occur after the 21st of March also known as the spring equinox
